Factors associated with Exacerbation of Myasthenia Gravis in a Group of Iraqi Patients

Background: Myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disease of the neuromuscular junction that results in fluctuating muscle weakness as well significant fatigue. Disease exacerbation a critical condition, and predisposing factors for it need to be identified improve preventive measures. Objectives: Our study aims determine myasthenia exacerbations group Iraqi patients. Subjects Methods: A total number 30 patients were admitted hospital with their symptoms, determined development functional disability, dysphagia, or respiratory failure within one month prior admission. Each patient was assessed by history taking, clinical examination, investigations possible exacerbating factor. Results: There (56.7%) infection. Non-compliance treatment found (26.7%) patients, medication induced (16.7%) Conclusion: Infection most common factor associated unfavorable outcome.
